Which hand held game system would be best for me?

I’m 20 and I haven’t had a portable video game system in years… I had a Game Boy Advance ages ago and found it last week with no idea where the games are. I used to love playing Mario and Pokemon on it. I’d like to get a new one just for entertainment when I’m bored at home but I don’t know which to get.

I’m NOT a gamer by any means. My brother has a PS3 and a Wii and all I play is Guitar Hero and the new Super Mario game for Wii, though I rarely play at all. I have an old SNES which I LOVED as a child.

What’s best system for someone who will only play casually?

I’m in a similar situation and I’ve just decided to get a Nintendo DS Lite (NOT a DSi) which I think would suit you particularly because the DS Lite is backwards compatible with Gameboy Advance games, so if you find any of your old GBA cartridges you can play them on your DS(or you can pick them up cheaply second hand or online). The DS Lite is compatible with almost all current and upcoming DS games but is being phased out by the DSi which was released in 2009 and the upcoming Nintendo 3DS scheduled for release Spring 2011. The DSi is technologically superior, it has a built in digital camera and music player, internet access and can download software from Nintendo online but is not backwards comptible with Gameboy Advance. There are some(but not all that many) games designed exclusively for the DSi but most DS marketed games play on both the DSi and the DS Lite. You may prefer the DSi but it’s more expensive than the Lite and from what I can see not significantly better, especially given that it’s not backwards compatible(you may not actually want this feature as you still have your GBA but it’s a major selling point for me because I still like the older games and lost my old console).
