What is the easiest to grasp Mario for Nintendo DS?
The New Super Mario Brothers I think would be to advanced for the person I’m looking for as she was unable to grasp Donkey Kong country when I downloaded it on the Wii (She can’t seem to get jumping down so she dies to the very first enemy over and over). I don’t think I’ve ever played one easier to grasp than that which is why I need help – she is very young and really would like to stick to the Mario universe.
If the person you’re aiming at wouldn’t mind a racing game, Mario Kart DS is excellent. It’s pretty straight forward and fun to play – incorporating all your favourite Mario characters. There’s also an online mode, so if the person has any friends with Nintendo DS consoles and the same game, they can play each other from the comfort of their own home.

Next up, if you want to keep your feet on the ground, and not in a car, there’s Super Mario 64 DS – which is basically Super Mario 64 (from the Nintendo 64) converted to the handheld console. It’s set in a 3D world and is less of a platformer and more of an adventure title. It could also be quite enjoyable – and there are a bunch of ‘mini-games’ included too.

Then, as you mentioned, there’s New Super Mario Brothers. If this is too ‘advanced’ for the person you’re thinking of – they must be very young. New Super Mario Brothers is practically stripped back to the original platformer game – there’s nothing much to it other than jumping and collecting things – but its still a whole lot of fun.
